Due to an increasing amount of work we are now looking for another full time pilot to fly single pilot VFR passenger charter, freight, and utility missions throughout the UK and Ireland.
PDG pilots can expect to work away from base for up to two weeks at a time (occasionally longer) and will be required to self drive to work locations.
The utility missions are:
- Powerline patrol
- Pipeline patrol
- Survey (LiDAR, hyperspectral, radar, thermal, visual)
- Filming & photography using hand held and turret-mounted equipment
Utility missions are conducted under SPO regulations and may carry risk greater than that for passenger flights. Experience of these missions is not necessary – appropriate training will be provided. They invariably involve flying with Task Specialists so good CRM is important. For obvious reasons, PDG set high standards for flying skill and personal conduct.
The ideal candidate will have 2,000 hours on helicopters, most of which will have been single pilot VFR flights in the northern European area. He / she must relocate to within 1 hour (driving) of our Cumbernauld base. An EASA CPL(H) and unrestricted Class 1 medical, a driving license with less than 6 penalty points, and the right to live and work in the EU are essential requirements. A type rating is not required (although gas turbine experience would be advantageous) – the successful candidate will be subject to a bond for any type rating provided.
Whilst much of the work is single pilot and away from direct supervision, candidates must be willing to integrate into the wider PDG team. They should have a good command of English.
