Moorland Erosion Prevention

On the 1st November PDG Helicopters and Conserve (environmental consultants) began a program of works at Kinder Scout and Woodhead in The Peak District for The Peak District National Park Authority and Moors for the Future.

This work entails the aerial transport of materials for Gully Blocking as part of an erosion control project.

The volumes of material are of 1,860 tonnes of stone to form 3,100 stone dams,
2,000 heather bales for 2,000 dams and wood for 862 timber dams.
