Power Line Stringing

If you've seen power lines suspended over rivers or climbing steep mountain sides and you wondered how they did it, then this video is for you!

During the summer we filmed one of our helicopters working on a newly constructed power line that passes along the west side of Loch Lomond to feed power to homes and businesses in western Scotland.

The term 'stringing' is the technique used to distribute and lay the cables into position ready for the power engineers to connect to the structures.
