Commercial Specialist

PDG Aviation Services is the leading aerial solutions provider within the UK and Ireland.

We are now looking to recruit a permanent full time Commercial Specialist to support the Commercial Director based at our Inverness or Cumbernauld office. Working within a business-critical area, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the overall company business strategy with the key focus being the development of work winning strategies that prioritise revenue growth while also remaining competitive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Rigorous forecasting ensuring the pipeline of new business opportunities is known and managed, while keeping all opportunities current and up to date on company systems.
  • Work closely with the Commercial Director to drive revenue growth through effective strategies.
  • Gather and maintain market activity and competitor analysis awareness via networking, researching, and analysing the markets/sectors.
  • Produce statistics, reports, trends etc. in relation to customers and prospects.
  • Management of the contract register and control of associated contractual documentation with customers, partners etc.
  • Active contract management including the monitoring of performance and obligations including operational performance, financial management and contract management.
  • Supporting the drafting and negotiating contractual agreements, including acceptable terms and conditions of contract.
  • Update and maintain the company’s standard terms and conditions of sale.
  • Prepare and deliver appropriate presentations on our solutions capability to existing and prospective customers.
  • Use appropriate qualification techniques to ensure opportunities are assessed and prioritised as appropriate to bring focus and urgency.
  • Lead the preparation and timely submission of tender documents, ensuring compliance with deadlines and requirements.
  • Identify the risks, liabilities, and commitments of contractual agreements to ensure these are clearly understood and the business understands fully any potential impact.
  • Monitor and measurement of customer satisfaction.

  • Strategic thinker with a results driven approach.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills, with the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders effectively.
  • Proven commercial acumen with experience of identifying commercially viable opportunities.
  • Highly analytical, with attention to detail, and a strong desire to find a solution to customer requirements.
  • Advanced organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload accordingly.
  • Strong IT skills, including knowledge of Microsoft office systems (Word, Excel & PowerPoint).
  • Comfortable working individually and as part of a small team.
  • Advanced understanding of key financial principles and business terms and conditions.

Desirable:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Knowledge of the Power, Energy, Rail and Renewables sectors.
  • Experience in an aviation commercial or operational environment.
